All Lakota Leathers banjo straps are made from Bison (American Buffalo) leather. Bison leather is incredibly supple, yet will support the heaviest banjo. These straps are very strong yet can be rolled up and tucked away in your case while still attached. You simply must feel one of our buffalo hide straps to appreciate them! These are the softest, most comfortable straps you will use!
Our unique cradle strap features a single “tail” section that completely encircles your banjo’s pot assembly. Each strap has a 36” main body and a 49” long tail section, creating an approximate maximum length of 78” and a minimum length of 57”. These pieces are secured together using two chicago screws. We suggest putting a drop of clear fingernail polish into the female end of the chicago screw once you get it adjusted to where it’s comfortable. This will help further secure the screws.

The non cradle straps attach to your banjo by utilizing two 20” 'tail -sections' of bison leather. These two 'tail sections' are ¾” wide and are at both ends of the main body of the strap. These can be installed with chicago screws by looping the tails around a single tension hook or without screws by putting a single hook through one of the holes on each tail piece.
